Day Tour - Lake Louise + Walk in Johnston Canyon

11 hours

Easy

Minimum age: 3

Escape the crowds. Discover the Emerald Gem.

If you’ve already seen Lake Louise, this is your next step. Yoho National Park is where the locals go to breathe. Known for its towering waterfalls and vivid green waters, this tour offers maximum visual impact with minimum physical effort.

Why we love this tour: It’s relaxed. It’s stunning. And it’s the definition of "Slow Travel."

The Itinerary:

1. Takakkaw Falls: The Misty Giant Stand at the base of Canada’s second-highest waterfall (373m).

  • The Experience: It’s a short, easy walk from the parking lot to feel the mist on your face.
  • Travis’s Fact:"Takakkaw" means "It is magnificent" in Cree. You’ll see why.

2. Emerald Lake: The Green Jewel Unlike the turquoise of Moraine, this lake is a deep, vivid emerald green.

  • The Experience: We give you plenty of time (approx. 2 hours) to choose your own adventure.
Option A (Active): Rent a canoe (seasonal/extra cost) and paddle the calm waters.
Option B (Relaxed): Grab a drink at the historic Emerald Lake Lodge or stroll the easy lakeshore trail.
  • The Boss’s Tip: The bridge near the Lodge is the best spot for photos—no filter needed.

3. Natural Bridge A quick but impressive stop to see how the Kicking Horse River has carved through solid rock over thousands of years.

Who is this for? Perfect for families, seniors, and photographers who want epic views without the steep hikes.
